WEFOUNDAdam and the Serpent

The gruesome symbol of a crucified serpent is an old alchemical drawing representing the “fixing of the volatile,” or, making the elixir of mercury, a legendary curative, by removing the ‘volatile’ or poisonous element. The picture is derived from the biblical story of Moses, who erected a brazen snake as a charm against plague.

It is a warning!
The Tau is the realm of matter. It is our universe where the laws of physics rule. The serpent is Sophia in her bases form. She rules the wisdom of Time and Space. If a Magus ignores the laws that govern our existence and only functions in the realm of possibilities and abstract thought she will strike the Magus and remind him that you cannot ignore reality of life which he functions. You must also live life and deal with the function of life that every human is subject to.

This is a Gnostic symbol surely? It represents the Light Bearer who came from the uncreated and supreme God, once in the garden of Eden then again as The Word made flesh. This is in Gnostic Christianity at least, there have been many messengers of Light (Sophia) throughout the Aeons and through the Aeons. Snakes represent healing and knowledge (look at the insignia on any medical facility or vehicle) this dates back to Babylon and ancient Egypt. I’m not a mason but I am sure they perceive it similarly. God bless. Seth Apocrypha
