Wing Commander: Privateer is an adventure space flight simulation computer game released by Origin Systems in 1993. Privateer and its storyline is part of the Wing Commander series. Privateer had an add-on titled Righteous Fire (1994) that continues the story and adds other purchasable equipment to the game.

The player takes the role of Grayson Burrows, a " privateer " who travels through the Gemini Sector, one of many sectors in the Wing Commander universe. The player may follow the built-in plot but is free to adventure on his own, even after the plot has been completed.

Burrows' name was unknown to the general public for many years. During that period he was known as "Brownhair", by reference to "Bluehair", the Wing Commander I and II protagonist later known as Christopher Blair .

I beg leave to acquaint you, that at half-past nine this morning, the Island of Saba bearing N.E. six leagues, I fell in with, and after five hours and a half chase, captured the Blockade American schooner privateer, of ten guns and sixty-six men, her first cruise, had only taken a small schooner belonging St.Lucia, but being chased by one of our brigs, two days ago, was obliged to abandon her.

This adventure began in the state of Illinois, approximately 30 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. Being that it’s allegedly a 13-hour drive from Illinois to Maryland (I put allegedly in quotes because this trip ends up being A LOT longer than the estimated time) and riders need to be at the track on Friday, I headed to Bubba’s house on Thursday morning so that we could load up his truck and trailer with all of his equipment, plus my stuff, and his mechanic Jason Watkin's stuff, and hit the road. The original plan was to leave his house at 10 a.m.—naturally I didn’t pull into his driveway until 10:30 a.m.

It’s now 11:15 and dirt bikes, bags, more bags, pillows, blankets, coolers, food, one more bag, and everything else you can imagine are loaded up into Bubba’s truck and trailer. Well, all except one thing … ME!
