WEFOUNDThe Wilding

USA Network has opted not to proceed with The Wilding , its two-hour supernatural drama pilot from executive producers Tim Kring, writer-creator Silka Luisa and Universal Cable Prods.

The project, starring Jordana Spiro, was part of a broader initiative at UCP and the NBCUniversal cable networks it supplies, including USA and Syfy, to jump-start a greater volume of high-end series at a lower license fee to the nets through a model that involves UCP supplementing the budget for the shows through financing via collaborations with international networks and SVOD deals. The first project under that initiative is the upcoming Syfy/UCP straight-to-series drama series Hunters , from Gale Anne Hurd and Natalie Chaidez.

I hear The Wilding  is being shopped by UCP, which is evaluating the option to go ahead and produce the series without a U.S. network.

Wilding conifers are invasive trees that choke the countryside and threaten our native wildlife. They cover more than 2 million hectares of land, and are spreading at an estimated rate of five percent per year.

The National Wilding Conifer Control Programme supports the National Wilding Conifer Management Strategy . The programme is a long-term partnership between LINZ, Ministry for Primary Industries, Department of Conservation, New Zealand Defence Force, regional and district councils, forestry, farming and community groups.

Emily Wilding Davison is one of the most famous of the Suffragettes. It was Emily Wilding Davison who threw herself under the king’s horse at the Derby of 1913 thus making her mark in history.

Emily Wilding Davison was born on October 11th 1872. She died on June 8th 1913.  As a young lady she had defied the odds a male-dominated society imposed on women, by graduating with a BA at London University and after this she gained a first class honours degree at Oxford University.

She was appalled at the lack of real opportunities women had in late Victorian society but she was especially angered by the stigma attached to all women by being denied the right to vote. A very wealthy female land owner could not vote at the end of the nineteenth century but many of her male staff could – the most obvious example being Queen Victoria who believed that women should not involve themselves in politics. The logic of this, according to the Suffragettes, was that this denial of the right to vote made them second class citizens. This particular aspect of discrimination greatly angered Emily Wilding Davison.

The Central Park jogger case was a major news story that involved the assault , rape , and sodomy of Trisha Meili, a white female jogger, and attacks on others in Manhattan 's Central Park on the night of April 19, 1989. The attack on the jogger left her in a coma for 12 days. Meili was a 28-year-old investment banker at the time. According to The New York Times , the attacks were "one of the most widely publicized crimes of the 1980s". [1] The crime spawned the incorrect use of the term "wilding" as the unprovoked gang assault on a stranger.

The five convicted men sued New York City in 2003 for malicious prosecution, racial discrimination, and emotional distress. The city refused to settle the suits for a decade under then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg , because the city's lawyers felt they would win. However, after Bill de Blasio became mayor and supported the settlement, the city settled the case for $41 million in 2014. As of December 2014, the five men were pursuing an additional $52 million in damages from New York State in the New York Court of Claims .

She was comatose for 12 days. [19] [20] [16] [18] [21] Her skull had been fractured so badly that her left eye was dislodged from its socket , which in turn was fractured in 21 places, and she suffered as well from facial fractures.
