Avian influenza A virus infection in people cannot be diagnosed by clinical signs and symptoms alone; laboratory testing is needed. Avian influenza A virus infection is usually diagnosed by collecting a swab from the upper respiratory tract (nose or throat) of the sick person. (Testing is more accurate when the swab is collected during the first few days of illness.) This specimen is sent to a laboratory; the laboratory looks for avian influenza A virus either by using a molecular test, by trying to grow the virus, or both. (Growing avian influenza A viruses should only be done in laboratories with high levels of biosafety.)

Infested terrans (a.k.a. infested humans) [1] are a breed of zerg created when the zerg infest a terran with a hyper-evolutionary virus . [2] [3]

The zerg believed they needed the use of psionic powers to defeat the protoss . The terrans were the only species they discovered with psionic potential powerful enough to help them achieve victory. [4] However, most terrans aren't psychic, and even those that are aren't necessarily genetically compatible (meaning they would lose their intelligence and any psionic powers). [2]

As of 2503 , [5] Kerrigan solved the problem of infested terran sentience, and could reliably create them. She would use some as her consorts and generals. [6]
